Beach Walk....

Early on Friday morning we went on an amazing beach walk

There were five adults and six children. We rose before dawn at 5.30am, had a quick breakfast to give us energy for the three hour walk and headed down to the beach where we started at 6.30.

I loved to see the sunrise over the breaking waves.

I was also amazed to see so many other people on the beach so early in the morning, mostly exercising with their personal training groups.

The children were so excited and set off over the rock pools in search of shells

How peaceful....the air so crisp....the gentle waves rolling in...

The moon was still high in the sky

In the bright clear blue sky.....

How I loved to see the crashing waves glistening in the breaking sunlight

We had a very, very long way to go...over 8kms....

Discovering interesting things along the way.....like this long piece of timber...

Which upon closer inspection showed a bounty of marine life....shells opening and closing....still living...

...and a squishy, sloppy, wriggly sea slug.....

Don't you just love the spray as it fizzles and bubbles to the shore?

The children were intrigued by their first sighting of a puffer fish stranded on the beach after the tide went out

And as always came the small offerings of native flora found along the foreshore

Sunny yellow for a warm sunny Autumn day!

The frothy ebb and flow....

The gentle criss crossing waves....

....and fluffy billowing clouds....

We followed in the footsteps of others there before us.....

....and left some of our own.....

  2. Thank you Rouky for your kind comments. It is a beautiful place to live. We enjoy reading your posts too. We never get snow here so we're enjoying reading about Cavalier adventures in countries where they can run out in the snow...their lovely warm coat would come in very handy I imagine. Here where we live I am tempted to get Jasper clipped in the Summer because it's just so hot and he suffers in the heat and humidity but I feel so sad if I have to shave off all that lovely fur.
